A Leger Fiddle
Well, last weekend turned up trumps with Harry Angel scooting through the Haydock mud.
The result was never in doubt from leaving the stalls; total domination!
We have to go back to the days of Dayjur in 1990 to compare with that performance.
The Roll Up continued its good start with Order of St George romping home at the Curragh…….see the page.
On to this week and the St Leger meeting.
The cards look extremely tricky and the added factor of bad ground forecast we are leaving well alone, apart from the St Leger, the season’s last classic.
We have narrowed this down to two horses and suggest two win singles on O’Brien’s Capri 4/1 and Gosden’s Stradivarius 13/2.
As always, good luck and keep you eyes open for leg no.3 on the Roll Up,
Harry’s The Boy
Long time no see.
Sorry about the lack of tips lately, we all need holidays but now we are back. Hope that you all had a great summer. I nearly drowned in the Wenatchee River in the Cascades of the USA. Good, say some of you, I hear but never mind I’m here to annoy you with some bum tips!!
Saturday brings the big sprint at Haydock, a real cracker with two of our old favourites in Brando (won in France recently at 9/1) and The Tin Man. The problem here is that they come up against a rapidly improving 3-y-o in Harry Angel who has the beating of these in the Newmarket July Cup although The Tin Man didn’t really turn up that day and Brando (3rd) was back from a long lay off. That was the best sprint field this season with all the usual suspects and we feel that Harry can only get better especially as he has impressive form at Haydock earlier in the season; get on at 9/4.
O’Brien has some good chances in Ireland this weekend with Churchill, Caravaggio, Winter, Order of St George and Gustav Klimt. We are also interested in the return of his smart horses Seventh Heaven and Rhododendron who have been under a cloud of late.
Anyway, good luck and see you all next week for the St Leger meeting!
Just to remind you, our Roll Up is back in action ……….see the page, please.
ps We did draw your attention to the potential of that fabulous filly ENABLE, after its run at Chester in May. Hope that you followed her in all her Group One wins!!
Well, Royal Ascot did us proud last week with a plethora of winners, 7 from 9 selections including the Roll Up winner and two non runners in Laugh Aloud and Brando. Some good prices too including Big Orange recommended at 12/1 and The Tin Man at 8/1. We hope that you were on some of these tasty winners!
Ribchester at 11/10 got the Roll Up started again so watch that page daily although we generally target the classier races which are at major meetings.
In the meantime we are waiting for the Eclipse at Sandown and following that the Newmarket July meeting.
We have just started our Financial page so you could take a peep at those tips.
Remember, watch out for the 2nd selection of the Roll Up bet.
See you soon
Well, Royal Ascot looms next week and it looks a great card over the five days.
Our Derby meeting tips yielded 1 winner at 6/1 (advised price) in ENABLE with a great win in The Oaks and a close up fourth in The Derby with EMINENT who was rather unlucky when squeezed for room in the last 100 yards. Never mind, we still had a profit and more if your bookmaker paid out on the fourth. EMINENT must be followed as he is knocking at the door and a big one is due.
Now to business.
The main bet is on Wednesday with LAUGH ALOUD & QEMAH in Duke of Cambridge Stakes. Both are 4/1 at the moment and a single on each will give 6/4……..BACK THEM BOTH!!
Others we fancy next week are as follows:
LADY AURELIA 7/2 Tuesday
CHURCHILL 4/6 Tuesday
DE BRUYNE HORSE EW 8/1 Tuesday
BIG ORANGE EW 12/1 Thursday
CARAVAGGIO 5/4 Friday
WINTER 7/10 Friday
THE TIN MAN 8/1 & BRANDO 16/1 both EW Saturday.
Good luck with these and don’t forget to review our ROLL UP page!
