Sorry about last week as we stated that we were torn between Native River and Blaklion in the Hennessy ending up suggesting the latter.
No excuses we should have stuck with our first pick but changed our mind.
Not good enough really as have found that changing your mind hardly ever pays off although Blaklion did run a blinder and was just beaten for a place being 2/1 in the straight on the exchanges.
This Saturday sees the return of that superb jumper Many Clouds in the Lotto Chase at Aintree. This former grand national winner is a big favourite of ours although flopping in the downpour with his big weight when last seen in this year’s national. The horse was second in this last year to class act Don Poli but beat Menorah and Southfield Theatre.
Although we feel that the field is less classy this time we are concerned about the horse’s fitness compared to the others and suggest just a small wager on him if only just to supplement the excitement with his superb jumping. This horse is a blast from the past of old fashioned staying chasers.
